Did you Pee in 18.3?

Tuesday, March 13th, 2018

Listen up ladies (dudes, you should read this too. Sharting ain’t normal either): Peeing with jumping, running, coughing, sneezing is common NOT normal!!!

A few of my favorite resources for ya: @juliewiebept, @pelviguru1, @brianna.battles, @pelvicwod, and @birthingwellness. Feel free to add your own below.

Listen to the video. Find a PT. Get help. Doesn’t matter if you’ve had 10 kids or no kids. Doesn’t matter if you’re a professional athlete or a professional tv watcher. Peeing with exercise and activity ain’t normal. And no, the answer isn’t to drink less water, or pee before you exercise, or just always wear black pants.

As for kegals, I’m not poo-pooing them (or should I say pee peeing 🤔😉), just making a point that we need to start treating the pelvic floor the way we are treating other areas of the body. Doing isometric quad contractions likely won’t take away your knee pain with running. Annnnnnd, your knee likely isn’t the actual “problem”…it’s the symptom. That pelvic floor dysfunction…perhaps it too is just a symptom. 🤯

So get in. Get assessed. Get help.
