DM #20: All too often I hear people say, “I worked out and nothing hurt today. It was a good session.” If you're using pain as your performance indicator, you're setting yourself up for failure. Pain is what we call a “lagging indicator, which means that if you use that to gauge you're performance, you've waited too long.
Stop using pain as your gauge and start autoregulating and assessing the quality of your movement. Check yourself before you wreck yourself ?
