DM #24: Stop passively hanging out at end range trying to increase your flexibility, and start activating at end range to increase your mobility.
If you want resiliency, if you want to bulletproof your body, you need to work on minimizing the difference between your passive and active range of motion. Excessive passive range of motion may make for a cool party tricks, but in reality it's just more room for you to get hurt. If you don't control that range of motion, you can't control that movement. If you can't control the movement, you're at the whim of gravity and external forces, and it's a perfect recipe for injury.

Own your end ranges. Work on being able to activate your muscles throughout the entire range of motion.

If you are the tinman, seek to increase your overall range of motion, but again, do it actively, not passively. Tell the nervous system that you own that movement, and that you deserve to have that new range.

This is one of the key ideas in @drandreospina's FRC system and has really changed how I work on my mobility. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. Flexy ain't so sexy when you start getting injured.
