DM #110: Jarod Hall really hit the nail on the head with this one. Took this quote from his most recent article on @newgradphysicaltherapy and couldn't agree more.
Physical therapy works because it's a process. People hate physical therapy because it's a process. Guess what? If it took a habit to get into this, then it's going to take a habit to get out of it. That pain that you've had for 20 years? Yeah, there's no way that's going away in a single treatment. There is no magic pill. There is no magic product. Respect the process.
And for you clinicians, especially you new grads, make sure that you too understand and respect the process. There is no magic bullet, no one single treatment approach that will fix all your patients. Grow your toolbox. Read as much as you can. Learn as much as you can. Treat physical therapy like a product and pretty soon you're gonna realize that your treatments aren't doing much of anything.
