Venus Lau is a dear friend of mine, and what I call a movement non-conformist. She started her journey as your average run-of-the-mill trainer, but her soul led her down a less traditional path, and she looks damn good doing it.
She tailors her coaching to each client’s experiences—a dancer and a tech developer have completely different vocabularies, and Venus capitalizes on the individual’s skill set for maximum efficacy. Her approach to movement is unconventional, and that’s what makes it so great.
There isn’t one “right” way to succeed; our careers can’t be sustainable if we hate every minute of them. You can still be successful, but have fun doing it. Learn the rules before you break them, have fun, and above all, never stop learning.
