MOTM #254: State of the Union: New Grad Physical Therapy with Christine MacSween

Monday, November 9th, 2020

In this week’s State of the Union, I wanted to check in with a new-grad to see what the current state of the PT world looks like .

Without even realizing it, Christine MacSween pitched herself to me, and I am so glad I had the chance to interview her. Christine just graduated in December 2019, so when I say that COVID hit right at the beginning of her career, I’m not exaggerating.

Christine didn’t always want a career in PT; she took a long and winding road that started in business and economics—and even lived in Scotland for a few years—before she found herself in the movement world. But that’s what’s so special about Christine: she follows her curiosity wherever it leads her. She asks questions, and then she does the damn thing. Christine has creates her own perfect opportunities and best life, and if there’s one thing I want you to know, it’s that you can too.

In This Episode You'll Hear:

  • How Christine found her way to the movement world
  • An openness to change and try different things
  • Economics and Biomechanics are the same thing
  • Learning how to think
  • “This could be done better”
  • The road to becoming a PT in Canada
  • Creating your best life
  • What COVID looks like in Canada
  • Ask, and you shall receive
  • COVID doesn't stop people from having needs
  • Celebrate your achievements
