DM #184: Gotta show my pelvic floor peeps a little love. For those of you who don't know I also do pelvic floor physical therapy, and it has totally changed how I view orthopedics and how I treat all of my patients.
When patients come in for knee pain you don't just treat their knee, so, pelvic floor therapists, when folks come in with pelvic floor dysfunction, puhlease don't treat just their pelvic floor.
The pelvic floor serves as the base of our “core”, and with our understanding of the integrated nature of the “core” as it relates to movement and functionality, we should immediately realize that treating pelvic floor dysfunction means treating way more than just the pelvic floor! Adductors, glutes, hip rotators, breathing mechanics, bracing mechanics, fascial slings, foot mechanics…it all ties together.

If you've got any other suggestions leave 'em in the comments. We're all in this together.
