DM #127: all the muscles in the world don't mean jack if they don't fire at the right time.
Did ADM very similar to this a while back, but had an awesome example, during this past weekend's RockTape course, and knew that I had to make another DM about it. Ever wonder why you have pain despite the fact that you go to the gym, workout, eat right, and yet your not so in shape neighbor isn't complaining about anything? There's more to it than muscle size and strength, people.
Had an attendee this weekend with an awesome build, great athleticism, and an avid exercise regime. Chronic shoulder pain SI joint pain, and despite the fact that she had a sixpack, she couldn't roll from her back to her stomach. Couldn't have asked for a better model to drive home the concept that it's not all about strength. Continue to focus your rehab efforts solely on strength and size, and ignore motor control and motor patterning, and you're going to find yourself becoming best friends with your pain.
