A nice little follow-up to yesterday's post about bottom-up squat training. If you don't know what I'm talking about, do yourself a favor and scroll back and check it out.
Anyways, the lovely @skofit was generous enough to film awesome Gaby Mac demonstrating exactly what I was talking about yesterday. We learn how to squat by standing up, not by squatting down. Now, Gaby Mac doesn't go into a full squat and hold it like I do in the video (she doesn't have time for all those steps ?) but we see how the pattern is exactly the same and would lend itself to a deep squat should she choose to do so.
This is how the human body moves, this is how the human body learns. When you're trying to train or retrain a pattern, remember the developmental progressions and consider the potential benefit to be had by training things from the other way around.
