DM #88: Paraphrased this from an awesome convo that I had with my dude @amucurio (total running guru) earlier this week.
All too often people simply think that if it's harder it must be better. This is absolutely not the case. Please stop stacking performance on dysfunction.

We need to treat running the same way we treat all of our other high-level movements. If you hate running, it's probably because you suck at running. If you suck at running, it's probably because your mechanics are whack. If your mechanics are whack, simply adding weight to that crappy pattern is going to do nothing more than set you up for injury.
People are starting to realize this when it comes to things like squatting and Olympic lifting, but running continues to get the shaft.

Weighing yourself down with a vest will undoubtedly make running more difficult. You will sweat more, you will breathe harder, and you will improve your mechanics zero.
So, if you want to throw on that vest to do Murph, by all means, knock yourself out. If you want to get faster, if you want to improve your running technique, if you want to stop hating running so much, ditch the vest and get assessed. Remember, more is not better. Better is better.
