DM #447: Nothing works for for everyone. Plain and simple.
—
Was rapping with my dude @samhodous_physio today and along came this little statement. Getting injured sucks, BUT, it provides us with an opportunity to experience things as a patient, namely, treatment. One of the things that you may discover during this period is that a particular treatment method doesn’t work for you. Ya know what? That’s ok. Nothing works for everyone.
—
It’s important that we don’t let our own experiences dictate our entire outlook on a particular treatment or approach. The reality is, if even ONE person benefits from a treatment then there is value in it. Just because acupuncture didn’t “work” for you doesn’t mean that it does not work in general or won’t work for your patients.
—
Expose yourself to new things, keep your mind open, and use those experiences to learn what works for YOU, not as a litmus test for what will work for everyone else.
