I get it. Performance is what’s fun. It’s the great motivator. Working on what we’re bad at and doing drills to improve our mobility…not quite as glamorous. But guess what, it’s the important stuff. All too often we get caught up in the high level stuff, worrying about how the parts are playing together, when we’ve completely failed to first see if the parts can play at all. There’s no point working on your squat if your ankles don’t move at all.

So. Play. Have fun. Explore your movement. Push yourself. Just make sure that you’re spending as much time obsessing over your ability to move as you spend trying to hit a 1 lb PR.
