DM #345: Not trying to argue or discuss the potential laundry list of exceptions to this statement. Hence why I said, “unless you do.” ?

The reality is, the majority of those musculoskeletal aches and pains that you feel don't require surgery, and honestly won't benefit from surgery. And when it comes to chronic pain, surgery definitely isn't the answer. Pain science for the win.
—
Remember, pain is an output from the brain, not an input from the tissues. Which means “fixing” the tissues may or may not do jack for your symptoms. Notice I said symptoms, not cause. So even if ya do manage to help those symptoms, you've done nothing to address the reason that those symptoms showed up in the first place.
—
So, to review, there's a time and place for surgery, but for the most part, that time ain't now.

And while you're at it, skip that MRI and go see a skilled PT or chiro.
