Hey guys, Maestro here, and happy Thursday, if you're listening to this right when it drops, if not, happy whatever day it is. Thank you again. And as always for tuning in, you guys are fricking awesome. So let's hop on into this thing. And today we're talking about taking what my good friend Jill Coleman calls radical responsibility.

So she either dropped it on a podcast or in a letter. I don't really know, but we were talking the other day and she said radical responsibility. We were talking about taking responsibility and she was like, yeah, radical responsibility. She's like a master with alliteration. Yes, I'm going to make a podcast about that.

So we're going to talk today about taking radical responsibility. If you read the little caption blurb thing, you see that I said, or you saw that I said, this may not be so fun. Like, it's cool to take ownership and be like, yeah, I did that thing when it's good, but when it's not so good, suddenly it's like, I don't want to fucking say that, that was me, but we're at a time right now.

You know, everyone's kind of in a different place, but the people immediately surrounding me and I include like, you know, my people, my, my, all of the people on Instagram and my mafia and my close friends, things like that. The people around me are in a, what looks to me and what they've told me is a good place and people are moving forward.

And one of the things I think that it's, is important to help us continue to move forward or if you're feeling stuck, right, is to take a moment and take radical responsibility. When this first, this thing first started popping off, and by this thing, of course, I mean Rona, when this first started happening, and I probably talked about this in the past episode, I don't know, there's so many of them, but I mentioned, I was thinking about how did I contribute to this?

Not like how did I contribute to the spread of coronavirus, but how did my actions Directly contribute directly or indirectly contribute to what I was experiencing. And also what was going on in general. So I looked at it from a bigger perspective than, you know, the things that I perhaps took for granted or just, you know, the way that I consume things.

So it's just, you know, trying to ask myself, what did I do so that this shit doesn't happen again? And that's what I think we. It should be, you know, I hate to say stuff and like kind of point fingers, but this is what we collectively, I would love to see us doing right now, especially those of us who are feeling kind of stuck is take a moment and think, what have I done to contribute to this?

Let me take responsibility for it. And it's really getting out of, you know, any victim mindset that we may have, which, you know, is a real thing and it's also difficult, but if we want to move forward, we gotta get out of that. Uh, my, my friend posted something the other day and it was a little bit, um, aggressive, maybe someone, some might say, but basically it was on the lines of him saying, no one.

And I was like, you're right, homie, you're right. You know, at the end of the day, we really got to say, what can we do to take care of ourselves? And so as such, when we're reflecting and looking backwards and where we're at right now, we're trying to move forward. I think it's really important that we say, what did I do to get myself into this position?

And maybe start with the good things so that, you know, we can have a little shit sandwich, if you will. Get the bad and then the good again. But. You know, for me, I'm not going to lie. I feel like I'm in a really good place right now, but it would be great to have, you know, a few other things, uh, mainly like, kind of like financially that maybe were, that maybe could be a little bit different to make things a little bit easier, like I have a Jeep.

That's expensive to pay for. I didn't buy that thing outright. Um, I live in Southern California, right? It is expensive here to live here. Um, the biggest one, I have a shit ton of student loan debt. I don't want you guys to think that I'm like over here with no student loan. No, I got a ton of student loan debt.

And so these are monthly, you know, recurring payments that I have to pay. Uh, and as such, like. You know, I have to make sure that my business stays afloat and that I have, you know, revenue and such coming in. And, you know, I'm not going to lie. Let me, let me do the little shit sandwich there. Shout out to Danny Matei.

It's funny. I said shit sandwich and then Danny Matei, but shout out to Danny Matei. Um, I crashed his mastermind. Um, I don't even know how long ago, I guess last year. And he introduced me to the profit first system and I put it in place at his mastermind, like at the mastermind event. I'm not in his mastermind, but I went to the in person event because he is my bestie.

Um, actually guys, we did a podcast episode together and it's straight fires. He dropped it on his podcast, um, this week. Um, so I'll link that in the show notes, but I put profit first into effect that day. Um, I actually also want to give shout out to my accountant. Sandy York, a. k. a. Fit Money Coach. I'll link her shit.

She is the bomb. Um, so financially, I'm in a really good way. And, um, so if I do that shit sandwich, it's like, yeah. One of the things that was really important to me was like, running a business and having cash on hand and saving so that if something bad happens, I'm not fucked. Like, I know when I was a P like a staff PT, I was really nervous that like, if I got hurt What was I going to do?

Like I couldn't treat and if I couldn't treat, I couldn't make money. So for me, it's always been about being prepared. I'm not like a huge planner, but I do like to be prepared. And so, you know, putting, taking things and putting steps, putting things in place. And that's kind of where I'm going with all of this.

Like, where are you at right now? Take responsibility for how you got there and then think about what steps you need to put in place so that this shit doesn't Happen again, perhaps it's you know, creating more of a safety net financially So maybe you can't bring in more money yet But like can you cut back on?

Certain things and I get it people might be listening to this being like we're in this recession and all this shit's happening You're talking about cutting back on things Yes, because I'm looking forward, uh, my, my biggest, uh, message messaging with this, right, is. Doing the really not fun work right now and looking yourself in the eye, looking yourself in the mirror and being like, what did I personally do to get myself to this position?

Because when we kind of like shift the blame and it's like, Oh, somebody else. And like, Oh, well, we just don't even think about it. We're not forced to take action. And so for those people that are kind of stuck with things, you know, action. And so if we can start by taking responsibility and be like, yeah, I did this, I chose to do this, and now you know what?

I gotta put in the fucking work to move forward. We're not gonna undo things, but, you know, this is the discussion I have with my friends a lot about student loan debt. Like, does it suck? Yes, but like, I chose it. Yes. Could I have been more informed about it? Yes. But I probably could have also done more research on it.

Like it's very easy to shift the blame to somebody else. They should have done something for me. But at the end of the day, I chose to do it. And so it is 100 percent on my shoulders to go and get myself out of that and work enough and change, you know, directions and diversify things and ask for help as needed and save as needed and cut back on this so that I can get myself.

Out of that position to take responsibility and be able to move forward. You know, again, kind of circling back to what my friend said on social media, as harsh or whatever it may be like, no, one's going to save you. And I'm not talking about coronavirus and COVID, whatever. I'm just in general, take responsibility.

Because no one is coming to save you, save yourself. I believe in every single one of you. So I'm gonna wrap this up because it is supposed to be a Thursday shorty, but just wanted to drop a little food for thought there. And, you know, throw out perhaps a not so fun drill, but you can do the old shit sandwich and, and think about all the good things that you've done so far.

And then. ease into that list of taking responsibility for things that maybe you aren't so happy about. And then just being like, yeah, owning it. I did that. I chose that. And now here's what I'm going to do to get out of it. Maybe a lot of work, but you know what? Start making some moves. All right, gonna wrap this up.

One quick announcement though, I almost forgot. This Saturday, uh, I'm gonna run a webinar about how to price yo shit. It's one of the number one questions that I get and, you know, I could tie this into this episode and say if you want help taking responsibility financially and getting yourself out of some messes.

That starts with business and pricing is a big part of that. So like I was saying, it's a huge question that I get or a really common question that I get. Uh, and I am actually really excited about this. You know, I, I'm excited in general to talk as you could tell. Um, but this one is, is, this is the first time I'm going to be running this webinar.

It is a paid webinar. It's 15 monies, uh, to sign up, save your spot. If you can't make it live, that's okay. The recording will be sent to you. Um, but I'll drop the link in the show notes. It's this Saturday. April 25th at 10 a. m. pacific time. And like I said, I'm gonna be talking to you about how to price your shit, whether it's a service, a product, you know, goods, whatever.

Uh, there is, there's some things to be thinking about and, uh, I don't want to give too much away. I'm, I'm actually just really fucking pumped about this and I would love to have you there. So if you have any questions, you could DM me, you can email me, text me, whatever, or you could just take a chance cause it's 15 monies.

Uh, you know that I will never under deliver ever. If you're dissatisfied, honestly, you guys listening to this, if you're listening to this and you go to that webinar and you are dissatisfied. I will give you your money back. I am that confident in what I'm going to be sharing with you. So if you're unhappy, just cause you're fucking unhappy, Kathy, I'll give you your money back.

It's 15. Alright? Okay. Hopefully, I will see you guys this Saturday. If not, that's cool. As always, I am endlessly appreciative that you take the time to even listen. Okay. Officially wrapping it up. Until next time, friends. Maestro, out.
