Hello, hello, hello, my podcast people and thank you for joining me for Yna, another episode of My Favorite. Podcast, if you're watching, listening, tuning in on the day that it drops. It is Monday, April 14th. Welcome to mid-April. We're talking about should you always display your prices. I'm not gonna lie recording this podcast.

I fucking love it, and also I think it ages me a little bit because it keeps me living in the future, right? I record this a week in advance and I'm like, oh my God, it's already April 14th. Like it's not when I'm recording this. It's April 7th, but still, I'm like, wow. It is, but it isn't. But either way, today, like I said, we're talking about should you always display your prices.

The short answer before we get into any and all of the life updates is a resounding yes. Literally always, yes, always display your prices. Like, yes, I somewhat chose this, this topic because I felt like keeping today's episode a little bit shorter. Uh, and there's honestly no nuance to this answer. Display your goddamn prices.

That's it. Uh, so life updates before I, uh, get into the full thing and just 'cause I like to share Life updates, life updates. Um, weather's be getting nice. Uh, summer is coming. It's always nice here. I'm not gonna lie, I'm very happy to live here. It's been a little bit windy. Mother nature is not happy. Uh, but it's, it's definitely feeling warmer.

If you dunno, if you're watching, you can see a little bit of the like raccoon eye kind of thing going on here. Um. That's very nice. Kim stayed with us. It was great. It's really nice to be able to share our space with people. Uh, she came here for volleyball. She's still here, actually. Um, things are, things are going well.

Volleyball is continuing to go really well. Lifting is continuing to go really well. My knees knock on the wood. They're doing, they're doing well. I, I, I'm happy overall. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I wanna do with business. I'm not gonna lie. Um. I continue to do the podcast, I love it. I'm writing my emails, um, but I don't know what I'm gonna do about the intensive and I'm not mad about it.

Um, in general, I kind of go in these five year cycles of like, I'm interested in this thing, I'm doing this thing, and then I'm like, okay, I'm ready for the next thing. Uh, and I really double down on online business in 2020 and it is 2025. So if you do the math, it is five years. So there's that. Um, yeah. I'm at a crossroads of sorts.

Not mad about it. Very happy to continue supporting people that I've been supporting. Um, new people that are coming in that are, anyone that's coming in is, is, you know, referral and they've been in the ecosystem, but we'll see. We'll learn together. But, uh, the big life update is that I switched my video editor.

To Da Vinci Resolve. Uh, last week Adobe announced that they were rolling back all their DEI initiatives and they were real loud about it, said with their whole chest. And I was like, okay, well that's good that you're, you know, saying it. So I know the things. Uh, so I said peace. Um, I got rid of Adobe Promote, uh, promo Premier Pro.

Literally on the spot. I downloaded Da Vinci Resolve. Largely went with that because of my guy jojo, his recommendation. Um, I watched a YouTube video on how to. Use it. And I literally made a reel, recorded a reel, and edited it with Da Vinci that afternoon. Like, so if you're listening to this and you've been thinking about switching it to Da Vinci, um, for whatever reason, and maybe this, or, or maybe you haven't been thinking about it, but then this, you're like, oh, I wanna switch.

Fuck Adobe. Okay. Um, da Vinci is super easily, it's a super seamless transition from, uh, Adobe, like. Super easy, and I will say it's actually faster with some things, especially the things that I need, which is gonna be like editing the subtitles, putting 'em in there, um, resizing overlays, it does it so quickly and much.

It's much faster than Adobe. It feels analogous to comparing, uh, WordPress and Squarespace and Squarespace, which I'm familiar with. Both. My current website is WordPress. My previous one was Squarespace. Um, so we see both of 'em have the same functionality at this point. Um, but. WordPress is a lot clunkier, right?

It is all a lot of coding. So if you wanna change something in WordPress, you have to like go in the back and yet to code something, whereas you wanna change something in Squarespace, you're just like, okay, here's press a button. Very similar with going from Adobe to um Da Vinci. So like, yes, there's a ton of functionality in Adobe, but it's also there in, in Da Vinci.

And so if you're thinking about making the the Switch, do it, um, it's a one time fee if you do pay for the pro. The reason I did have to pay for the, it's called Studio. The reason I paid for that is 'cause again, I need to be able to do subtitles. You cannot do that on the free version. Um, but you can do everything else.

So there's my pitch for it. I'm not an affiliate or anything like that, but there you go. Um, but. The reason I bring this up and the take home from this is, and this is actually what the real was about, um, is just spending your time and your money and your, you know, your dollars in a way that builds the life that you want, which includes promoting your value.

So if a company is doing something that you don't like, not supporting them is a step that you can take, right? Of note. Another step, another action item that some people choose is to fight, to fight back. And I'm like, I love that. They'll write letters, they'll make calls, they'll try to get the company to change.

That's great too. And that's also needed, right? Do what works for you, do what feels best for you. Maybe you end up doing both. Let me start off with one and then you switch that. It's up to you, right? I don't care enough about Adobe and there's alternatives. Um, I don't care enough. I have to try and change it.

I won't, I will just choose to not spend my money there. Um, the same goes for Airbnb. The reason I bring up Airbnb is because we, I had a good discussion in the comment section of the, of that reel that I made and posted, um, with a woman who said that, you know, the boycott for Airbnb is difficult for her because, you know, it's how she makes some of her income.

She also does list on V on vrbo, right? VRBO. And her choice was to use her voice to try and get Airbnb, Airbnb to change. And I was like, that's great. Amazing for you. Of note, the reason I stopped using Airbnb is because they have a billionaire on that is part of their board, that's also part of Doge. You know, I was just like, I don't fucking want it.

Like this is annoying. So, you know, the woman was like, he's not gonna hurt his day to day. You not not spending money. Airbnb is not gonna hurt his day to day, whereas it will hurt mine. And I was like, I don't do this to hurt his day today. I am not putting my money there so that I can align with my values.

There's a difference there. Right. So speaking of values a, this is a good segue into today's main topic, which I've already given you the answer to, which is, should you always display your prices? Yes. For the love of all things? Yes. Yes. There's literally no reason not to, right? And again, this is based on my values and the things that I value.

You're watching this. Maybe you value what I value. Or maybe you just stumbled across this thing as episode on YouTube and welcome. Hello. But these are my values. You can do whatever you want. I'm gonna share what I do and the reason that I do it, right? I value transparency. I value agency, right? I'm gonna say the things.

I'm gonna put the things on the website, the price, and then you a whole ass adult. Can decide if it's worth it to you or not. 'cause you have agency autonomy. I have transparency, right? I'm not out here trying to be people's financial advisor. I'm gonna let you decide what you wanna do with your money. And I also understand, I mean, you all folks understand that there are people, many people who wanna see the price of something, not so that they can just say no.

They wanna see the price so they can save up, show it to 'em. I show it to 'em. I have plenty of people that have gone through my, I intent, have gone through my programs and they're like, I'm not doing it this year. Right? I have a $10,000 program run with Lex called the Lecture Mine. I have a at $8,000 program run with Jill called Legacy.

People need to see the price so they can save up. I'm like, I'm not, I don't, I'm not trying to be your financial advisor, but also I do not want you to go broke trying to pay for this thing. I refuse it. No, I'm not gonna do that. So here's the price. Save up. We'll run it again next year. All right. Many of you listening to this, are watching this or watching this are in the health, wellness, and fitness space and will very readily agree that insurance is the fucking worst.

And going to a hospital and not knowing how much you're gonna pay is nonsense. It's the fucking worst, right? So don't do that yourself, right? And before you hit me with the but, but, but if you personally, whatever you're doing, you have ranges for things. Just fucking say that. AKA if it depends on the scope of the project, say that.

Be like, it starts at this, packages start at this. They can go this high. It depends on these factors. Okay, that's fine. And please don't make me put in a fucking email address. I have to figure out your prices. Don't have to get on a fucking call that's tacky and terrible and yikes. Let's use the, the word that has regained, you know, have a second life.

Yikes. That's yikes. If you don't take insurance. Bless you. Great. Just fucking say that on your website and explain it on your site. Why are you trying to have a conversation, that shitty conversation a zillion times a day? Just fucking say it. I know people don't read anything, but at least it's there.

Right? And then Lisa, you have the language so that when they do hop on the call, you can explain it again and be like, Hey, it's also on the website. You wanna go and read it? Great. It's all there. Transparency agency. Amazing. Hey, it is wild to me that you can go on Zillow. And you can see the, the price of a house.

Any house, right? He, there's houses here and I will link one of them. Thank you, Courtney. That is $30 million, right? I live in a, in an insane, I don't own that house. I can't even afford to breathe near that house, right? It's on the strand. It's $30 million. I actually don't really like where that house looks, but either way, that's, that's an aside, the aside besides the point, but it's $30 million and it's listed right there.

Meanwhile, you're gonna have business coaches out here telling you to hide the price of your fucking $500 service. What? The price of your $200 service. That's crazy. Talk to me. Display your fucking prices, right? You have a brick and mortar facility. Display your fucking prices. Yes, I know. I'm certain that there are other business coaches out there, other people out there that may disagree with me.

That's fine. Don't send me their shit. I don't need to see it. I have my own opinion. I'm not gonna change it, right? I'm here with this platform to say what I believe, right? That is their choice to say what they believe and that's based on their values. I'm telling you, mine. And yes, I did have an in-person practice.

I did practice in person for eight years. I rented space and my prices were on my website. You know how I know 'cause I made the fucking website. They were on my website since day one. That was way back in 2014 on the Squarespace website that I built myself. I my maint stick as of late. But also as of always has been to build and live your best life, which realistically is going to be based in leading with your values once you've identified them, right?

Congruency and consistency with your values across all things is where it's at. I'm not saying it's gonna make you rich, right? Especially in the world that we currently live in, because we have a lot of fucking problems and the system that we are currently in here in the United States especially, is built to make more money not to consider morality.

But like I've been saying, your business is an opportunity. It is an opportunity to build the world, the society, the economy, the community, the market that you wanna live in, that you wanna do business in, that you wanna be a consumer and a customer in. So stop waiting for someone else to do it. Put those prices on the website.

Alright, I'm looking at the time, amazing. 11 minutes. I told you. Just keeping it short today, my goal, my hope. That you use, the time that you saved from the, you know, usually these are, these are about 20, 25 minutes. You use that time to go to your website and add your prices if they're not there. And actually, if you're gonna go and do that, let me see it.

Text me, DM may text me 3 1 0 7 3 7 2 3 4 5. Send me a DM and show me that you did it. I get it. It can be scary. Let's do it together. Build the the fricking world that we want. No one's gonna come and save us and do it for us. Alright? So if it's you, I don't fault you for not having them on there. If you're ready to do it differently, ready to, to lean into your values, amazing.

Screenshot it. Let me see it. Share with me. I would love to celebrate you. Alright, that's all I got as always. I'm really animated today. I'm not mad about it, as always, endlessly, endlessly. Endlessly appreciative for every si. I hit that thing for every single one of you. Until next time, friends Maestro. Ow.
