Sometimes you have to literally treat yo'self ? My right achilles and calf have been feeling a bit wonky for the past day or so following a wicked double-under wall ball workout, so I figured it was time to take matters into my own hands (see what I did there?!) A little IASTM with the RockBlade-RockRub combo, followed up with some RockSauce love, and then wrapped up nicely with some RockTape. I'm sure all that Rock talk got some eye rolls, but I use this stuff because it works, and I truly believe in it; not because I work for them. No pressure at all to use what I use. I'm just trying to live my life and stay out of pain, and hopefully dispense a little knowledge along the way.
IASTM is a great way to promote fascial gliding and restore normal tissue movement. RockSauce is simply a topical agent to help with pain. RockTape, my favorite, decompresses the area, helps with pain mitigation, and promotes movement and normalization of tone via the neurosensory effect. And YES, you can put it on after using RockSauce and it will stick. How cool is that?! *note: I like this particular taping technique for the Achilles/calf because it avoids having to start/stop tape on the bottom of the foot (which can roll up easily) and also avoids having to go over the calcaneus (heel) which can cause tape wrinkles/bunching for those with a smaller heel. But feel free to use whatever technique you like!* Put it all together and you've got one heck of a pain fighting-movement promoting combo. Don't just wish for things to get better, make it happen. #Maestrofied
