DM #160: Powerful words from my guy, Gary.
I “met” Gary through social media, and while I've yet to meet him in real life, but we've had many a convo and I always take his words to heart.
As a practitioner and as an educator I take my role seriously and feel blessed to be able to do what I do. Gary made this comment on one of my posts a while back, and it really resonated with me.
There are just far too many ?y practitioners and providers out there. My fellow physical therapists, if you can't look yourself in the mirror at the end of the day and say “I did the best I could,” you're doing something wrong. Yes, the healthcare system as it stands makes it tough to spend time with patients and do as much as you'd like, but you can still do your best. If you're out there just throwin hotpacks on people and “fixing” them with stim and ultrasound, you're not doing your best. Not even close.

So, read Gary's words, and really let them sit with you. What we get to do is truly special. Make sure you treat it that way.
