DM #167: A humbling truth.
One of the best parts of teaching across the country is getting suggestions from attendees regarding things to read, courses to take, and names to look up. As novel as I may want to believe that the information I'm presenting is, the reality is that it's likely just a new take on an old concept.
It's funny to peruse the interwebs and see folks trying to claim techniques as “theirs”. That lunge pattern you've been doing, yogis have been doing forever. That appreciation for breathing that you just gained, monks been preaching about since the beginning of time.
There is sooooo much information out there, it's incredible. Read. Watch. Listen. Learn. Spend more time searching for and realizing the commonalities between ideas as opposed to trying to claim things as your own. It's all the same ?, just with a little spin and viewed through a different lens.
