DM #168: Yeah, I said shit. Get over it. I’ve had a day, this quote really resonated with me, and you’re all adults. And if you’re still mad at me, blame @iainjkemp, he said it ?
Despite the fact that it might be less efficient than batching, I create these DMs on the very same day that I post them. One DM per day, with more time than I’d like to admit spent crafting them and figuring out the best way to convey what’s going on in my head. They are a reflection of what I experienced that day, what I’m feeling that day, and what stood out as something worth sharing with all of you fine folks.
Today’s theme was about being humble while learning, listening, and growing. Given the current state of affairs in this country, there’s never been a better time to take the time to read and learn, and to listen to each other. Oh those social media comment sections. ?I also received some emails today about learning, growth, and staying humble, and how they relate to one’s teaching and treating approach. All of this to say that I couldn’t ignore the signs, and had to make it tonight’s DM. I’m human, and I hope these DMs and the rest of the stuff that I post reflects that.
So, what’s tonight’s take-home message? Simply, stay humble and read a ton of [good] shit. You are not better than anyone else, you will never know it all, and life is too short to be anything but kind.
