“Yes, I did my conditioning today, and it was hard. No, I don't just body build all day, every day, but if I did, I'd be pretty happy about it and likely feel amazing. Why does your training leave you in pain?” Incredibly wise words from the ever incredible @marcusfilly. If you don't already follow him, do yourself a favor and get after it. Social media has a tendency to glorify the stuff that breaks you down. Heavy barbell work, crazy gymnastics, running until your legs fall off. So, here's a little snippet of my work for today. The truly important stuff. The stuff that keeps me healthy, balances me out, attacks my weaknesses, and makes me a better mover.
I clean and jerked today. I did Diane (shhh, don't tell @allthemfeelings ?), and I tested my 400m run. But this shoulder and midline work I put in afterwards is what allows me to do all that other stuff. Don't get it twisted, THIS is the stuff that makes you great. And who doesn't love a little flex session ? You worked hard for those muscles, don't be afraid to show them off. ?? #Maestrofied
