DM #196: I always tell course attendees that I learn just as much as they do when I teach. This weekend was no exception.
Spent the weekend teaching RockTape Basic and Performance and got to nerd out with @wes_rosner. Smart doesn't even begin to explain what this dude is bringing to the table. One of these days he'll get is social media stuff together ?

Either way, this was just one of many pearls he dropped, and I couldn't agree more. It seems that we've begun to view ergonomics as a way to figure out how to change things around to allow us to remain stationary for longer periods of time. Standing still for 4 hours is no better than sitting.
I get it. People have to work. But instead of focusing all your efforts on figuring out how to change everything around your patient, spend some time educating them on the importance of movement, the science behind pain, the value of health.
As @stopchasingpain says, ‘convenience kills.' Treat the human. Teach the human. Change the human. The person who realizes that their health is the most valuable asset that they have is the person who will spend less money buying things to “help”, and more time doing things to avoid needing that “help” in the first place.
