DM #240: First off, for those of you who don't know (and it's totally fine if you don't), NKT stands for NeuroKinetic Therapy.
As for tonight's message, it's pretty simple. Use testing, and that's any kind of testing, to CONFIRM your hypothesis. NKT testing can provide you with some pretty cool stuff, but it can also take you down a ridiculous rabbit hole of “weak” muscles that can be related to other muscles all over the body, and imply a fragility of the system that honestly isn't there. Connectivity, yes, fragility, no. More on this at another time.
If you go blindly into an assessment and hope that NKT testing will provide you with some guidance or direction, you're setting yourself up for failure, and a massive headache.
Consider this my unofficial review of the course. NKT testing is helpful, but it's just like any other assessment tool. You have to go in with an idea, you have to go in with a plan. And here's a hint, ask lots of questions and actually listen to what your patients tell you. The value of the subjective assessment cannot be overstated.
