DM #243: Step away from the band. I repeat, step away from the band!
Now, don't get me wrong. I love a good corrective exercise as much as anyone, but let's build humans, not robots. If all you're doing is constantly using bands and external cues then you're setting your patient up for failure.
Humans are incredibly resilient creatures with an insane ability to adapt, grow, and learn. We are not fragile. Our spines won't snap in half with just the simple thought of a movement performed while not in neutral spine ?
My point? Don't let the pendulum swing too far. There is absolutely a place for correctives, but there's there's also a place for free movement, a place did play, a place for creativity, a place for training outside of “perfect position”, and a place for pushing the limits. Build humans, not robots.
