DM #273: picked up this gem from the book I'm currently reading, The Anatomy of Breathing.
Point of this DM? There's no one right way to breathe, and we should ABSOLUTELY be practicing and exploring the various techniques. Diaphragmatic, chest, through the nose, into the back, through the mouth, out the mouth, into your side, paradoxical, maximal, pursed-lip, need I go on?
Based on the position you're in, the activity you're performing, and your current physical state, you're likely to default to a certain pattern of breathing. The goal is not to use a single breathing strategy all the time, but to have ownership of as many different patterns as possible.
Breathing is movement. Increase your movement arsenal and increase your resiliency.
And for all the skeptics out there, YES, breathing is THAT important.
