Shoulder CARs (controlled articular rotations) with a twist…actually, without ?.

The shoulders have been feeling pretty gunky lately and surprise surprise, passive rolling and smashing just wasn't cutting it. Don't get me wrong, that stuff DEFINITELY has its place, but so does ACTIVE mobility work.

If you've ever done shoulder CARs before then you know that the tendency is to want to cheat by rotating at the torso and stealing whatever shoulder ROM you don't have from there. Solution? Block the twist.

Decided to give these a go in sitting, using my other arm to lock myself in place by holding on to my opposite leg. Worked like a charm (yes, still compensating and my head is turned ?I'm human). One of the main concepts with FRC is irradiation, and using my opposite arm to old on to my leg not only allowed for that, but also provide proximal stability at my trunk, thus allowing for more distal mobility. I realize I can't get to that bottom position, but that's not the sticky stuff for me anyway, so I was willing to forgo that area to be able to get to the good stuff. —
Shoulders are no joke feeling like a million bucks. @joelavapt and @movewellphilly, @hunterfitness, thoughts? And even if you hate it, I still love it ?.
