DM #455: But you can (and should) start there.
—
Change takes time. Improvement takes time. Healing takes time. I get it. You want to be better yesterday. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Just because you've finally committed yourself to moving better and cleaning up that dysfunction doesn't mean that you have erased the past 37 years of not moving so well.
—
But let's not be a total Deb here. You gotta start SOMEWHERE, and you should commend yourself for that moment of intention. Stick with it and it will become moments of intention…which become days, weeks, months, and years. And suddenly, things have changed. You're feeling better, moving better, being a better human.
—
My point? Be patient and persistent. A single moment cannot fix a lifetime of dysfunction, but it can start you on the right path.
