DM #506: Posture may speak volumes, but movement NEVER lies.
—
A little Martha Graham twist comin’ at ya right there. Tonight’s post is 100% inspired by the online consultation work I’ve been doing with some olympic lifters (yes, I do remote stuff. Technology is amazing. Shameless plug ??♂️, DM me if you’re interested?). I got sent a photo and asked what could be the cause of the asymmetry. My response? I have no f?cking clue! I can make a million guesses, but until I see you move, I’ll never be sure.

Watch someone move and you get the full picture, the whole story, the good stuff. And no, you likely won’t be able to watch just one single movement and figure it all out, but put a few of those movements together, and what a beautiful story it will tell.

Does posture matter sometimes? Sure. Not here to have that debate and open up that can of worms ?. Just simply trying to make the point that if you’re trying to figure out someone’s dysfunction, you gotta have them move. Plain and simple. Pictures are great for hanging on the wall. Movement is where you’re going to find your answers.
