Many moons ago I received a great piece of advice from infamous NYU professor, Dr. Kevin. Weaver. “You're patients will tell you exactly how to help them. You just need to ask the right questions, and listen.”

We're treating humans, not tables, and as such, they have thoughts, emotions, feelings, opinions…all of which not only contribute to their symptoms but can be used to help improve those symptoms. As clinicians we don't fix, we facilitate, and as such, there's nothing wrong with letting your patients take the wheel and help steer that ship.
