As it relates to the weight belt discussion, just because something increases muscular contraction or intra-abdominal pressure does not make it a good thing. That thing becomes a good thing because it gets you to do the right thing, at the right time, in the right amount. Over-bracing your core to perform a lift is no better than under-bracing your core to pick up a slipper off of the floor. Goldilocks had it right.

Apply this principle to whatever you’d like. Bigger is not necessarily better. Faster may not be better. Heavier often times is not the answer. What we’re looking for is what’s right. What’s right for that person. What’s right for that movement. What’s right for that moment in time.
