I used to be into running. Like WAY into running. During that time I digested everything running related, and this quote was one of those things. Went on a run today and this gem came to mind, and I had to share.

Lengthen those strides BEHIND you. Why? What am I talking about? Well, over-striding is a pretty common issue when it comes to pain with running. Pain science police, put-lease, hold your horses. Honestly, increase your cadence by 5-10% and a ton of issues go away. So, think about lengthening that stride behind you, and suddenly you find yourself actually getting hip extension (and propulsion) along with shortening that stride. Bring those strides closer to landing underneath your hips and suddenly you don’t have such a crazy braking moment with each step. Translation? More elastic energy. Less force through the joints. Moar better (@hunterfitness 😉).
