MOTM #256: State of the Union: Massage Therapy with Qiana Thompson

Monday, November 16th, 2020

We’re back with another State of the Union episode, this time with a guest I am so excited to talk to: an industry leader in massage therapy, and my friend, Qiana Thompson.

Coronavirus shutdowns have been tough on the massage therapy industry. Government policies vary state by state, and with no clear answer on what counts as “essential” or not, massage therapists have been left behind. Qiana was hit hard. But she wasn’t going to let it take her or her business down.

Qiana knows, no one is coming to save you. Not the government, not the banks, not some masked hero in a cape. The only person who can save you is yourself. So keep your head down, and lear to make the system work for you.

In This Episode You'll Hear:

  • What happened to Qiana when Rona hit?
  • Having time to think and process
  • Weak links being exposed
  • Prioritizing your practice and yourself
  • Entrepreneurship is bred from necessity
  • Can Mom & Pop Shop massage therapists survive?
  • Financial literacy and self-sufficiency
  • The blended future of the massage therapy industry
