MOTM #305: Time is Our Most Valuable Resource with Shannon McKenna

Monday, June 21st, 2021

We’re keeping on the cirque-train this week with the founder/creator/head honcho of the Artist Athlete, Miss Shannon McKenna.

Shannon McKenna is a tree climber-turned-entrepreneur who followed her passion (and her hatred of shoes) into her best life. Her story is less than conventional, and that’s why I know you’re gonna love her. She fits right in here.

Shannon said it herself, she was never very good at doing anything other that exactly what she wanted to do. Even when its hard, even when resources are low, our time is still the most precious commodity we have—so why waste it?

In This Episode You'll Hear:

  • How a hatred of shoes lead to Shannon’s career
  • The problem with being a contracted performer
  • Becoming an artist
  • The Only Option
  • Speaking up and speaking out
  • The creation of The Artist Athlete
  • The end goal isn’t to make money
  • Giving yourself time and space during the pandemic
  • The arts and cirque world coming out of lockdown
  • What Shannon McKenna’s business looks like
  • Having a strong physique
  • Chipapalooza
  • Becoming a Cat Person
