DM #245: First off, if you’re not following @Strong_by_science, give him a follow. Second, he did a dope post today discussing how two people with the same force producing capabilities can execute the same movement but have it look quite different, based on their efficiency. Same amount of force used, two different movement outcomes.
If you’ve ever done any olympic lifting you know exactly what I’m talking about. Small girls slinging around weight that dudes struggle to move. Yes, they must have some sort of baseline strength and be able to produce force, but clearly there’s more to it than that. What gives?
In the office, in the gym, wherever, work smarter, not harder. Technique (which will be largely dependent upon your specific body) matters. That’s science.
