DM #590: Non-contact meaning you did that mess to yourself. No one and nothing tackled you or hit you or pushed you. YOU landed weird, YOU bent down to pick up your slippers, YOU zigged and your knee zagged…no one to blame but yourself ??‍♂️.

So what the heck am I talking about here? ?Just another case of where you think it is, it ain’t. Now, sometimes where you think it is, it is. But often times when we sustain an injury or experience pain it’s not the injured area that’s to blame. Take for example the ol’ back blow out. Yes, your back is what now hurts, but typically that’s because you weren’t using your ‘core’ well, and were instead asking your back to do all the work ?.

So, once that rehab starts, yes, you gotta make sure that that newly strained/sprained/injured tissue heals and gets attention. BUT, if you don’t go back and address the original ? that wasn’t working the first place, then that ‘healed’ tissue likely ain’t gonna stay ‘healed’ for so long. Not sure where to start? Find yourself a dysfunction detective and get assessed. Your body will thank you.
