DM #222: My dude, @atxphysicaltherapy telling it like it is. It's a big leap, it's scary, you have bills to pay, I get it. But if you're one of those therapists out there, frustrated with the system, struggling to look yourself in the mirror at the end of the day because you know that if you had more time you could give better care, do something about it.

And no, don't feel bad about charging for your services. If you do the math, patients will actually end up saving money. “2-3 times a week doe 6-8 weeks…” If I never hear that phrase again it would be too soon.
Just how would they save money? Well, consider this: only needing a fraction of the traditional number of physical therapy sessions because you get to spend 3-4x times as long with each patient as compared with so many of those traditional outpatient mills. (We've all been there ?) What does this mean? No unnecessary imaging, no weeks upon weeks of physical therapy with $50 co-pays and minimal gains, no unnecessary or avoidable surgeries, less time lost from work, more time to spend with family, less opioid addictions, better interventions for chronic pain…need I continue?

The new year is approaching, which means deductibles are resetting, and people are going to start thinking twice about using their insurance anyway. Take the leap. At the end of the day, your patients will thank you.
