DM #217: This year give the gift of an anti-fragile approach to quality movement.
My dude @meathead2302 dropped this as part of his daily meatheadism (totally just made that up) and it was too good to not share. Def give him a look. Putting some good ? out there.
I’m all about correctives and using external cueing to help with restoring more ideal movement patterns, but take it easy. Let it rock. Build monsters, not robots.
My girl @venus2bfab echoed this sentiment perfectly last wee when hung out and chatted about her approach to movement. Correctives have their place, but so does free movement. Correct TOO much and the reliance on external cuing become the default instead of that faulty pattern that you were trying to correct. Which, might be better, but definitely isn’t what you want.
Correctives are just another tool in the tool box. Treat the human. Recognize and appreciate the incredible resiliency of the system. Build monsters, not robots.
