DM #208: Ask. It’s as simple as that. A mantra that completely changed my life.
My females, I’m looking at you in particular. I’m all about hard work and putting that nose to the grindstone, but sometimes the prize goes to the person who asks, not the person who works the hardest.
I am by no means saying that having the guts to ask for something should replace merit, but don’t assume that the powers that be see all of your hard work or realize your wants. Ask for the raise, ask for the promotion, ask for the time off, ask for the bigger office, ask for the new job, ask for the comped seat, ask for the t-shirt…ask.
So, I leave you to think about this over the weekend. Whatever it is, work your ass off for it, but never be above asking. It just might change your life.
