More rehab for the ol' hip. Things have been coming along nicely, but end range hip flexion and abduction remain affected.
CARs (controlled articular rotations) as coined by @drandreospina are an excellent way to work on improving and owning your range of motion. CARs require focused, targeted movement, ideally coming ONLY from the joint you are working on. The goal is to maintain tension throughout the system and move slowly throughout the entirety of the range, scanning the periphery and trying to go a little bit farther each time. It's a drill that proves to be truly exhausting both mechanically and neurologically (peep da forehead vein ?). Getting range of motion is hard work, that's why people don't do it.
I'm in quadruped this time to change the postural demands and thus the difficulty of the movement as it relates to certain motions. As always, filming oneself provides excellent feedback, and I've definitely got some work to do maintaining external rotation while abducting and getting back to neutral during hip extension. @garagegymgirl, don't look at my left arm ?

Determined to get this thing back to 100%. Remember, you will NEVER rest your way to a full recovery. Get after it.
