Yes, yes, yes, squats can look similar. That's not really the point I'm trying to make here. My point is that two people can have two VERY different architectural make-ups (even being the same height) and that will make all the difference. Different femur lengths, different torso lengths, different hip sockets, different torsioning of bones, different muscular insertion angles…you get where I'm going here.

So, your goal should always be to squat with the best technique for YOU. Yes, that toes forward, torso upright squat may be real purdy, but it just ain't for everybody. Do you. Your buddy has their own things to worry about.
