DM #493: ?…

More is not better. Better is better. If movement makes you feel good, then by all means, MOVE. BUT, if you’re moving in an effort to help with pain, or an injury, don’t forget the basic concept that stress, is stress, stress, and your body doesn’t know the difference. So, if you’re using exercise to help cope with that horrendous job with the ridiculous hours, those endorphins may feel good at first, but to your nervous system it can be perceived as just more threat. Sooooooo, move accordingly.

Again, I’m NOT saying to do nothing. I’m saying, consider dose, the same way you would with any other medication. Movement is, after all, medicine. If moving makes you feel better, then move. But realize that diminishing returns is real thing, and moving as hard as you can, for as long as you can, as much as you can, might not be the best idea.

Movement is absolutely medicine. Just remember that you don’t need to (nor should you) take the entire bottle at once when you’re trying to get better.
