Make it about them. Plain and simple. Reminds me of one of my favorite @adamwolfpt Adam-isms, “Expose, don't impose.” Whether your treating, teaching, coaching, or doing anything that involves working with another person, if your goal is to impart change, they have to buy into it. If you want them to buy in, make it about them, not you. —
