DM #481: Own your movement. All of it.
—
This is one of @drandreospina's most well known quotes, and I thought it only fitting in light of the shoulder video I put up earlier today. (That's your cue to check out my last post ?)

So what's the deal here? We don't sprain our ankle in subtalar neutral and we don't hurt back in neutral spine. However, we also don't spend every single minute in either of those “neutral” positions. It's impossible. Given this, it would be wise for us to develop strength in the less than ideal positions as opposed to trying to train ourselves to always stay in the ideal positions.

Start in neutral. Learn what that is. And then branch out. Explore your end ranges. Go slowly. Add resistance. Build resiliency. Just because you avoid a position in training doesn't mean gravity won't take you there during competition.
