MOTM #154: Ditch the Desk with Julia Avery

Monday, October 28th, 2019

I say it all the time, “Now is the best time to be alive.” For those of you wanting to become personal trainers, the options are endless, and perhaps, overwhelming. But, real talk, is it actually possible to earn a living as a personal trainer? Is it actually possible to leave your job, complete with salary and benefits, for a career in the fitness world? Absolutely.

But, I have no idea how to do it. That's why I brought on my friend, and creator of Ditch the Desk, Julia Avery. Julia went from a job in investor relations (I had no idea what that was until she explained it) to being a full-time trainer, and now coaches other folks who want to ditch the desk, follow their passion, and pursue their fitness career dreams.

If you've ever thought about becoming a personal trainer, but you're just not sure where to start, or you're worried you won't be able to make enough money, this is the episode for you.

Everyone else, listen around the edges, this episode is all about that Roger Bannister effect, and Julia's story is another perfect example of working for what you want, taking chances, and building the life that you want…because, real talk, no one is going to build it for you.
