Now, clearly I'm not about chasing symptoms or providing people with bandaid solutions, but when a less than ideal structure is dictating an very problematic function…ya gotta do what you gotta do.

This is by no means an invitation to stress out about your anatomy, believe that you are “broken”, and assume that a 1 mm leg length discrepancy is the cause of all of your life problems. Far from it. Simply stating that some times, as PART OF a comprehensive treatment plan, you have to manipulate the intervention so that the environment now fits the person, instead of trying to change the person to be able to fit the environment.

Uncompensated (or overly compensated ??♂️) foot positions can cause a whole bunch of problems up the chain, and sometimes ya gotta just contain the fire before you can put it out. Tape, shims, wedges, posts, orthotics…they have their time and place (and no, it's not in the garbage ?). Sometimes in order to “fix” a problem, you must first treat the symptoms. Don't forget that.
