Hello. Hello. Hello. My podcast people. And thank you for joining me for yet another episode of my favorite. I almost said my favorite episode, my favorite podcast. If you're listening to this or watching this and it drops, it is Monday. May 27th, happy Memorial Day. I didn't plan this, but it is apropos because today is typically a day when people are chilling, they're grilling, they're enjoying the sun, fingers crossed that we have sun on this day, because obviously I recorded this in the past, so hopefully we have a little bit of sun.

Uh, but either way, they're enjoying the day. And that is loosely what I want to talk about in today's episode. More specifically, as the episode is titled, I don't want to be busy, but before we jump into that quick reminder, that tickets are available for boss up 2024, it is the lab. I'm going to put on my, uh, what is it?

Spokesperson, uh, salesman. I don't know, but I'm feeling this event and we're going to talk about it. It is, in my opinion, going to be the live event of the year for online business owners who are ready to do more with their business. Uh, and they know that they want to do business differently. That is to me the, the, the big kicker with things.

It's going to be October 10th and 11th here in, fingers crossed, sunny SoCal. Um, it'll be here regardless, but fingers crossed it's going to be sunny. At the Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach. General admission tickets are 4. 97. I'm not going to make you go to the website to check it out, take the prices out because Part of the things we're talking about at this event is doing business differently, which to me includes putting the prices on everything and not like bait and switch and hide things and get people to go to pages so they can see stuff and you can convince them.

Now, I'll leave all the information right now. I'll let you from there decide if you want to go and check out more, but general admission tickets are 4. 97. That includes two full ass days of learning, lunch on both days, and then a happy hour on Thursdays. You can talk to all the peoples. VIP tickets, we do have seven of those left, just seven.

Those are 9. 97. That includes everything that the general admission ticket has, plus a Mrs. Was news to me when Jill was like, we're doing this and I was like, all right, cool. We're doing this It's a half day building. Excuse me half day business building workshop on Wednesday So right so the day before everything else everyone else comes in you will get a half day of business building with me and Jill You get a private dinner with us and then seven days of post event follow up coaching So we gonna make sure your ass implements again VIP ticket.

We have seven of those left. They are 9. 97. In my opinion, it's a fucking steal. But as per always with business, we set the price. You, the customer, determines the value. So, uh, at the event, Jill and I are going to be breaking down business strategy, online business strategy, but we are this year bringing in Guest speakers.

We have three lined up so far. Uh, Dr. Uchenna Osai, Rachel Strickland and Dr. Jennifer Hutton. And they're going to teach you what it actually takes to do business differently, right? And build something that you are proud of. What it means to be willing to show up, to put yourself out there, to risk rejection.

That's a big one. To take some heat, right? To stand up for what you believe in and to, we'll say it, have the audacity. To spread your message and attract your people. I am incredibly stoked to have them. And we have at least one or two more speakers that I, that we are working on. Uh, so get ready for that.

You can check out all the things, uh, go to themovementmyshow. com forward slash boss up 2024, all one word. And that'll be the registration page. All the information is on there. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, anything like that, shoot me a DM, shoot me a text 3 1 0 7 3 7 2 3. Four or five and I'm happy to answer it.

So, uh, Jill and I just, we just hosted a live event number two for our current legacy cohort, and I was reminded yet again, just that nothing compares to nothing beats the magic of being in the room, right? The inspiration, the support, the idea generating, the realizing that you're not alone, which I know is huge in the space for a lot of online business owners.

Just maybe no one else does what you're doing. Your friends don't do what you're doing. Their moms don't do what you're doing and people can feel very, very alone. You realize you're not alone when you go to a live event, right? The ability to draw from the experiences of others, right? The accountability, right?

We all know the tremendous role that environment plays when it comes to action. And so if your goal is to take action, it's to do things differently. A live event is going to be one of the best ways to facilitate that, right? So. If it's interesting to you, if it sounds interesting to you, if you haven't gone to a live event ever, especially if you haven't gone to a live event ever, I would love to have you come experience the magic of being in the room.

So, themovementmyshow. com forward slash bossup2024, all the information is there. Uh, I got no announcements besides that. Um, but it does feel like it's been a minute since I've given any announcements because we had last week, Two guest episodes. Hopefully you check those out. That was episode 581 and 582 with Kelly Bryant and Kathy Sierra, respectively.

Definitely. Please go give us a listen. If you haven't already. Kelly's episode is in my humble opinion, perfect for any of you who know that you have what it takes to run an online business. But you're feeling like maybe running an online business or having your own business is not necessarily the best way to create your best life.

Uh, maybe you're feeling some kind of way about pausing this entrepreneurial journey, cause people can be like, Oh, you're a quitter or something like that. Even though they won't do that, but in your mind, you're thinking that. Um, and the idea of a more traditional job, while it may seem rational and maybe the best bet, you're kind of to do that.

But I feel some kind of way. If that's where you're at go check that episode out. Kathy's episode That is a re release, right? Every Thursday we're doing re release episodes. That's episode, that was originally episode 90, folks. Episode 90! That was released on February 11th, 2019. I brought this episode back largely because I'm pretty certain that many folks in the ecosystem Haven't heard it, right?

Uh, podcast players, usually like Apple podcasts, only shows the most recent 300 episodes. This is episode 500 and that was episode 582, which means that it's not on the player. It's on my website, but it's not on the player. So, uh, it was absolutely one of my favorite guest episodes that I ever recorded.

And if you do not know who Kathy Sierra is, I can say with full certainty that she is The most interesting woman who you have never heard of. All right. And I'm going to dare you to listen to that episode and not be inspired to just go and build and live your best life after best life, after best life, after best life, tune into the episode and you will see what I mean.

Uh, life wise, update wise, things are the same. I got no travel. We have no travel until July. And I love this. I want to stay home. I want to be in South Bay. I want my routine. I want nothing on the calendar. And that is exactly what today's episode is about. So a few weeks ago, before volleyball class started, uh, my coach, Steve, I've talked about him before, y'all know, I love him.

He says something along the lines of, he says something to Lex along the lines of, man, you've been really busy, right? He follows both of us on social media. He follows all of, you know, all of us on social media. Um, and during that time she was real deep in her website challenge and she was also doing regular work stuff and she was sharing on social media, like all the stuff that was going on.

And so he was like, man, you've been really busy. And she was just like, yeah, it's good. And he agreed and said something along the lines of, yeah, it feels good to be busy. And I was like, immediately, no, right. I do believe he was largely speaking, you know, about feeling good to be doing things you love. But if I take the statement literally, right, and that's how I initially interpreted or just heard it, uh, I was.

Immediately, immediately know, EO David, I love that show, like the visceral response that my body had told me that I need to record an episode on us. And so this has been kind of percolating and marinating for a, for a few weeks, but I didn't record it cause I like to keep things timely in case I do have any updates or anything like that or anything happens, you know, in the interim.

So here we are recording. So one of the best things in my opinion about getting older is knowing exactly what you do. And don't want, and anyone that's listening to this, listening to this, that's older than me, right? I'm 39 and, but I already, as I'm saying this, I'm already like people that are listening to this.

I know I have people in my audience and they're like, you're not old. And I didn't say I was old. I said, getting older, right? One of the things that is the best parts about it is. that you learn exactly what you do and do not want, right? And I do not want to be busy. I do not like having a zillion things on my calendar or a full ass schedule for that day.

I do not like it. Something that has been becoming increasingly more clear over the past, I would say year or so, definitely in the past few months is exactly how I want to work with clients, right? Exactly how I want to support them, exactly who I want to work with and how I want them to utilize me. Of note.

Not notes of note. One of the reasons I wanted to make this episode is simply to give people options and be a quote unquote different voice in the space, right? Run your business however you want. Support your clients however you want. Above all else, look to figure out what you want. Right? I see in a space, I'm always cognizant of there being like a main kind of voice or a main message that's out there.

And it's important to me to. If I, especially if I feel like I have a different voice there, just to present it so that people can hear something else if they're looking to hear things. Right. So something that has also been coming up frequently for me, specifically in my, for me, right, is hit the desk is human, my human design type.

Now I'm not all into that. I don't think against it. Right. That kind of sounded kind of like pejorative, like, Oh, I'm not into it. I am not well versed in human design, but I do know that I'm a projector. And, um, it has come up many times. Like that's something that like people are like, Oh, what, you know, what's your human design type?

I know that. That's why I know that. Um, but something has always stood out to me regarding being a projector is that they are the advisors, right? They, the advisors that wait for the invite. That is me to a T, right? I am not a helper. I am not a worker bee. I don't want to be thought of as helpful. I do not find validation in being thought of as helpful.

I definitely want to be viewed as competent, but I don't need for people to ask me a million things for me to be like, yeah, I have purpose. Like, no, it's fine if they do, but I don't need that, right? Nor does it like recharge me. I like to give direction. I like to sit back. I like to assess things, analyze things and be like, this is the best path.

That is the best path, right? I like to give direction. I like to give advice to folks who ask for it. To that end, I do not want my day busy with a million fucking tasks or a million things to get done for people. Immediately, no. It's not for me. I don't like it. I really do love my Mondays. Today is Monday when I'm recording this and also when it drops.

But I really do love my Mondays because they are fully creative, right? I record the podcast episode, I write an email that goes into my full list, and both of those are on whatever topic I want, right? It's full creativity. If I tie this into the initial segue from the update section of this episode, We're entering June, right?

I said that the calendar is clearing and things are slowing down. I mean, I don't have anywhere to go, which means that my coaching slows down because Legacy comes to an end. It ends at the end of June. And Luxury Mind will end at the end of July, which means more space, more room in the calendar. Yes, I absolutely fucking love working with my people.

So if you're listening to this, you're watching this, and you're like, wait a minute! Wait a minute. I love you. I love working with my people, but I also love an open calendar. It's why I'm only client facing two days of the week, right? Those open days, they excite me. They energize me. Again, I am just here with this episode to be a voice in the space, sharing my experience.

Some people love a full calendar. They love having things all laid out. They love having every minute accounted for God bless them. Those scheduling softwares and things like that have never worked for me. Cause I'm like, I don't like it. I know what I got to get done. I'll get it done. I do love the little like checklist feature in notes, but I don't want a full calendar.

I don't want a full day. I don't have things on the calendar. I don't have obligations. Like, yes, it's nice to be invited to places, but please don't expect me to come. Right? I know if you know, you know, right? So something to consider with this, something to acknowledge with this are the phases and seasons of life.

So I do think that I've always been, I don't even think, I know that I've always been like this, but I do also know that I was more willing to have a busier calendar. When I was younger and definitely when I was in my like season of working for rock tape Like I wanted a busier calendar because that meant I was making money, right?

I wanted to be going to the different cities. I didn't want to be in New York City, right? I was I was pretty much done living there so I wanted those things on the calendar, but Now, I just fucking want to be at home. I want to be chilling. I want to be, I almost said reading, but y'all know I don't read the things.

I'm listening to the books. I'm actually listening to a book right now, which probably ties into this episode. I didn't write about it in the outline, the episode outline, but I'm listening to a book right now called The Sunny Nihilist. I think it's called that. Something like that. That's the one thing, right?

When you have, you listen to books on, on Audible, you don't look at the cover, right? You're not like constantly picking it up. So I'm like, I don't even know what the fucking title is. But I think it's called The Sunny Nihilist. I am very much enjoying it so far. I'll do my little review or like, you know, recommendation when I'm finished with it, but So far, I would recommend it if that is in fact the title.

Um, but it kind of ties into this and like what you give meaning to, right? What you choose to have matter. And for me, it's not a busy calendar. I really love having space. I love having an open calendar. I don't get stressed out by that. I don't feel like I got to fill every single second. I don't want. A busy calendar.

I don't want to be busy, right? So again, this is my way of saying, do you, my experience does not need to be your reality. I am just sharing the things for folks who like to hear from other people and are only hearing things that aren't resonating with them, right? So. Again, the summary, the title, I don't want to be busy.

I'm not in love with the full calendar. Obviously I am so grateful for my clients and for the people who trust me. All right. I'm saying that, um, cause I feel like there's probably some people listening to this or watching this that are like, Ah, you're putting into the ecosystem, into the ether that you don't want to be busy, you're going to like lose all your clients and not get bored.

I'm like, well, I'm not worried about that. Um, but this is the both end, right? I am incredibly grateful for the people who trust me and want to work with me, but a packed schedule is not my ideal situation. So, you know, if it's not yours either, please know. Gonna wrap it up here. Don't forget to grab your BossUp tickets as always.

Endlessly, endlessly, endlessly appreciative for every single one of you. Until next time, friends. Maestro out.
