MOTM #222: It’s Never Too Late to Start Saving Money with Sandi York

Monday, June 22nd, 2020

Let’s talk about money.

No one ever expected a worldwide pandemic, so how could we have prepared?

Well, for starters by actually having savings.

Now, I get it. Right now we’re being presented with facts that highlight socioeconomic disparities and the racial injustices that underpin many of these things. This episode is not about that. I’m learning more, but that ain’t my wheelhouse.

I do however believe that educating people about their finances can be extremely helpful, which is why this week on the podcast I have a repeat guest, and my own personal accountant, Sandi York.

It is my hope that you walk away from this episode with the understanding that saving anything, even if it’s a penny, is worthwhile.

Perhaps you were not prepared for this pandemic, but you pivoted and your business will survive. My question to you is “What are you going to do to make sure that you don’t wind up in that situation again?”

Sandi has some advice.

In This Episode You'll Hear:

  • Who is Sandi?
  • How she bridges the gap between finance and fitness
  • Financial fallout after the coronavirus
  • How to start saving
  • Building habits, building momentum
  • Personal vs. Business savings
  • Savings goals we should all have
  • Finding what works for you
  • What it means to pay yourself first
  • PPP loans from the SBA
