Just Keep Swimming

Writing today because something has been on my mind for a bit, and it seems like whenever I’m feeling some kinda way about something, many of you seem to be feeling the same kinda way about the same kinda thing.

So what’s been on my mind? Relentless pursuit of, and endless commitment to, your dreams.

A few weeks ago I shared the video below on my IG stories and it’s something that it’s truly worth watching the whole thing.

Whatever it is that you’re working on, keep going. That thing that you believe in, that other people don’t believe in just yet, keep going. That dream you have that seems a million years away…keep…going.

You know that I love me some Seth Godin, and I was listening to his book Tribes (Audible ftw) yesterday, and this line jumped out at me:A big part of leadership is the ability to stick with the dream for a long time. Long enough that the critics realize you’re going to get there, one way or another, so they follow.

Lead. Keep going. Your people need you.

I know that you’re over there with a million things on your plate, but something burning, inside, that you want to go after. That you want to build. That you’ve been dreaming about. It’s hard. It’s scary. It’s daunting. It seems like it’ll never happen. People don’t get it…yet. It hasn’t gained traction…yet. You’re thinking about giving it up. Or maybe you’re talking yourself out of even starting. Don’t.

It’s been about 2 ½ weeks since I opened doors for the Beta Mafia members, and I’m literally watching my dream become a reality. I want this for you. I want you to know what it’s like to watch something you’ve dreamed about for years, and worked on for just as long, take shape and come to life. I want you to keep going, and have faith that it will be worth it… no matter what it may feel like right now.

So, if you’re having one of those days, or one of those weeks, I leave you with this:

Happy Friday.

Maestro out.
